Featuring Fun Times in the Fabulous Outdoors!

Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, I’ve also called Crested Butte and Phoenix home. What was supposed to be one ski season in Crested Butte turned into five unforgettable years living and recreating in the mountains before eventually making my way down to the Arizona desert, where I’ve been since 1998.
I’ve always been drawn to an active outdoor lifestyle. Over the years I’ve spent time diving, rock climbing, skiing, and exploring as much as possible whenever life allows. After moving to Phoenix, I discovered another passion: triathlon. That drive to stay active eventually grew into an even deeper love for hiking, backpacking, camping, and chasing adventures both close to home and across the American West.
Going Down The Trail is a place to share those adventures — the incredible places, the tough miles, the unexpected moments, and the stories that come from spending time outside. Whether it’s a multi-day backpacking trip, a desert canyon, a mountain summit, or simply getting away for a weekend, the outdoors has always been where I feel most at home.
Here’s to good times outdoors — with good friends, or sometimes just by yourself.
